Our Founder

Dr. Kent Takemoto

Dr. Ken Takemoto, M.D. "Dr. T"

Dr. Ken Takemoto, M.D. has spent his career working at the intersection of medicine, managed care, utilization review, and workers’ compensation law.

He previously served as Medical Director of a large workers’ compensation insurance carrier and as National President of Coventry Workers’ Compensation Managed Care. Most recently, he has led multiple workers’ compensation clinic systems as Medical Director, focusing on improving access, clinical consistency, regulatory compliance, and navigating utilization review challenges.

Having worked on the payer, managed care, UR, and treating physician sides of the system, Dr. Takemoto brings a rare multi-perspective understanding of where treatment delays, reporting deficiencies, UR denials, and access failures occur — and how to resolve them within California’s workers’ compensation framework.

His current work focuses on restoring continuity of care while producing comprehensive medicolegal documentation designed to withstand challenge — including Substantial Medical Evidence support for AOE/COE opinions, statutory presumption analysis for public safety employees, detailed PR-4 reporting, and clear treatment rationale structured to address utilization review standards.
